Avedis collaborated closely with African-American artists such as Chick Webb and Papa Jo Jones, who assisted in the development of the HiHat. This period of innovation saw the creation and naming of cymbals like the “Paper Thin Crash,” “Ride,” “Splash,” “HiHat,” and “Sizzle” by Avedis. The Jazz design commemorates this significant time in Zildjian's history, reflecting the collaborative spirit and fluidity of jazz music.
